A new tube map was designed by Jonathan in 2012, just for fun.

The idea arose from the completion of the extension of what was then known as the East London Line, now known as the Overground. The line had been re-connected and cobbled together from various bits of track to form a new orbital route around the city, effectively connecting London’s zone 2 neighbourhoods.

The route is actually quite tricky to navigate for anyone who is not familiar with London, and the concentric rings design was an attempt to rectify this, taking some initial inspiration from the Moscow subway map.

The map has since been published in Tube Map Travels by Maxwell J Roberts (Capital Transport Publishing) 2019.
